When you think of Lovers Rock, it’s likely no other name will spring to mind before the romantic ballads and rhythmic roots of Beres Hammond spring to mind. Drawing extensive inspiration from the likes of Soul and Jazz to Ska and Rocksteady, Hammond’s vast array of influences can be heard as he progressed from his adoring tone on his 1992 Jet Star album, ‘A Love Affair’.
