Giving thanks and praise
Originating in the early 80s, 'Reggae Gospel' quickly became one of Jamaica's most widely appreciated genre's of music.
With artists like Carlene Davis, Marvia Providence and Lester Lewis offering an alternative to the Rastafarian lyrics synonymous with reggae, this new style music opened the door to a much wider audience.
Over the years, Jet Star has been lucky to work with some of reggae gospel's greatest names. From distributing George Nook's 2004 album, 'Don't Give Up', through to hits including 'Hear My Cry Oh Lord' by Marvia Providence and Donna Marie's 'God Loved the World', we are happy to have played a small part in creating the hymn book of reggae gospel classics.
Now, you can listen to these anthems of thanks and praise on our brand new compilation, 'Reggae Gospel, Vol. 2'. Stream and download the full album here.
